Internet Providers In My Area

So you want to know what internet plans that we might be able to offer for your address? Or internet available in my area? Or internet providers in my area? OK, so, let's work through this as logically as we can. (If you have other sales questions, those can usually be answerd by reading the FAQs page of our site, see link above. In order to help keep prices as low as posisble we do not operate a 'sales call centre' so please do not phone us with sales questions, alternatively we do not normally call people either.)

Please note that for Postal Codes the second character needs to be a 'number' not a 'letter', and in the second set of three characters, the 1st character is a 'number'. For example A3A 4G8, and the last character needs to be a number. (Lower case characters will be converted into upper case characters for you, and we correct the letter 'O' to a zero for you.) Otherwise, if you type the characters wrong you will likely be shown an error message.

If you get an error message, then likely you have entered a letter where a number needs to be, or a number where a letter should be. Just fix it and then click on 'search'.

We Only Offer Cable Internet or DSL Internet

To begin with please note that we only offer internet over cable TV lines, or over phone lines which are 'DSL' capable, (and not all phone lines are DSL capable, and if the phone company already told you that you could not get DSL internet for that address, then you can't). We do not offer internet over satellite dishes, antennas, 'point to point', towers in your yard, or cell phone towers. We do not offer home phone, or TV channels, or security systems, or bundles of any of those, only internet plans. Availability of plans varies by province, and may vary by place within each province, and can even vary by address.

Cable TV or Cable Internet Already Available

If at the address you want to know about, if you already know that you can get cable TV or cable internet for that address, or you know that there is currently, or know that there has even been, a cable TV line (but not from a satellite dish), from Rogers, Shaw, Cogeco, or Videotron, then it is OK to order cable internet from us (including making payment at the time the order is placed), all of the cable internet plans on the page for that place name would be available at your address. If for any reason we are unable to service the address we would tell you that and refund your money. If the cable TV line belongs to some other company, that the ones we just mentioned, then we cannot use it. Cable internet plans include a cable TV line. If you have already checked with the cable TV company for that area and they say that they cannot provide cable internet at your address, then neither can we.

DSL Internet Already Available

If at the address you want to know about, if you know that there is currently DSL internet from Bell (for Ontario or Quebec), or Bell Aliant (for the Atlantic provinces), or Telus (for BC & Alberta) then it is OK to order DSL internet of the same (or lower) speed from us (including making payment at the time the order is placed), as those DSL internet plans on the page for that place name would be available at your address. If for any reason we are unable to service the address we would tell you that and refund your money. If the phone lines belongs to some other company, that the ones we just mentioned, then we cannot use it. DSL internet plans do not incldue the cost of the phone line (if a dry loop line is required, which it will be if you do not have an active phone company landline that you pay them money for each month, it is an additional cost). If you have already checked with the phone company and they say that DSL internet is not available for that address, then we would not be able to provide it either, (neither would we be able to offer a faster DSL internet plan for that address than the phone company can).

Off the Grid

If the home or cottage you are trying to find internet for, is completely off the gird, no utilities, no municipal address, no power, nothing, then we will not be able to service the address. If the home or cottage does not have a municipal / Canada Post street address, then it is unlikely that we can service the address, unless you currently have cable TV or cable internet (from the cable companies listed above) or DSL internet (from the phone companies listed above). We are not able to lookup addresses by legal land description, latitude and longitude, Grid references, or GPS coordinates, landmarks, or by telling us what is nearby, or by giving us driving directions, (as we have to enter the address you provide into computer systems to pull up the results).
